Middle School (5-7)
To prepare our students for a successful transition to high school, Holy Cross School offers a comprehensive curriculum based on the needs of young adolescents. While we challenge students to meet their academic goals, we are also mindful of an adolescent’s developmental needs. The curriculum emphasizes both process and product, knowledge and application. Middle school is a time for students to gain independence; it is also a time of exploration to develop skills and talents.
In our fifth, sixth, and seventh grade classes, students build knowledge and gain practice. Through Project Lead the Way’s Gateway program, students engage in hands-on, collaborative problem-solving activities that allow them to explore a wide range of engineering topics and careers. Students are provided laptops through the school’s 1:1 laptop program, and Holy Cross Educators integrate innovative technologies throughout the curriculum. Through social-emotional learning lessons, students learn to set goals, build a positive self-image, understand their emotions and reduce stress, and develop healthy relationships.
