Project Lead the Way

Project Lead the Way is an innovative, transformative curriculum that guides students to develop and apply critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Students in grades Pre-K–5 participate in the Launch curriculum, which relies on children’s innate desire to explore their world and ask questions. Their learning evolves through hands-on experiences in computer science, engineering, and biomedical sciences. Students complete activities, projects, and problems that could happen in the real world. The Gateway curriculum is designed for students in grades 6–7. As these students continue their PLTW journey, they are exposed to careers in the environmental and biomedical fields. Collaboration and communication skills are fostered as they navigate real-world challenges using hands-on experiments and technology.
