Lock-In Policy:

The stated lock-in time for a dance represents the time all students/guests MUST be in attendance and the time in which all students/guest must remain until. For example, if a stated lock-in time is from 9:00pm until 10:30pm, all students must be at the dance NO LATER THAN 9pm and may NOT leave the dance until 10:30pm.

Important Note:

Once a student has arrived at a dance, they will not be permitted to leave until the end of the dance's lock-in time. For example, if the stated lock-in ends at 10:30 pm, regardless of what time they arrived at the dance, they must remain until 10:30 pm.  All students and guests must carry themselves in a manner consistent with the Holy Cross man and the teachings of the Catholic Church. All HC students must follow all school policies during any event they attend and are responsible for the actions of their guests. 

Permission Slips:

All guest/dates attending a semi-formal or formal dance (Homecoming, Junior Prom, and Senior Prom) will be required to turn in a required permission slip for Holy Cross. It is the responsibility of the Holy Cross student to provide the permission slip. All forms will be sent out and posted prior to a dance. No exceptions. 

Sign-In:

All guest/dates attending a casual dance such as the annual Back to School Dance, Pajama Jam, etc. will be required to sign in at the dance before entering. The sign-in will include, but not limited to, guest's name, cell number, parent's name and number, and current school.  No exceptions. 

Dress Code for Girls:

Semi-Formal (Homecoming) and Formal Dance (Prom) Dress Code for Girls:

• Must be long, floor length-all around.
• Must have a modest neckline
• No visible midriff, no cutouts or cut-outs that are covered with sheer see-through fabric
• Backs must be at least two inches above the natural waistline
• Slits for dresses may not be higher than 4 inches above the knee.
• No outwear is permitted to cover a dress that is in violation of the dress code.
• Girls must wear dress shoes
• No pierced body parts are to be visible except for the ear lobes.
• No tattoos are to be visible.
• Administration has the right to use their discretion when it comes to determining the appropriateness of an outfit.

Casual Dances Dress Code for Girls:

Dances such as the Back to School are casual in nature which means attire can consist of the following:

• T-shirts, blouses, shorts, skirt of appropriate length or shorts of appropriate length. Shorts or skirts can be no more than four inches above the knee.
• Shirt or tops must have a modest neckline.
• Leggings are permitted if shirts cover up to the top of the thigh.
• No visible midriff, no cutouts or cut-outs that are covered with sheer see-through fabric,
• Girls may wear casual shoes, tennis shoes, or boots. Slippers are not permitted. No pierced body parts are to be visible except the ear lobes.
• No visible tattoos.
• Clothing cannot have any messages contradictory to the teachings of the Catholic Church, promote alcohol use, drugs, sexual images, any message that are disrespectful toward others, and political messages.
• Administration has a right to use their discretion when it comes to determining the appropriateness of an outfit.

Dress Code for Boys:

Dress Code for Semi-Formal (Homecoming) and Formal Dances (Prom) for Boys:

• For semi-formal dances, students should be in suits and ties or tuxedos, socks, and shoes that can take a shine. For formal dances, students should be in tuxedos, socks, and shoes that can take a shine. NO TENNIS SHOES!
• Suits and tuxedos should be of moderate color, pattern,  and style. Administration has the right to determine if a suit or tuxedo falls within the school dress code policy.
• No earrings or visible piercings or tattoos
• Students must be in socks, as well as shoes that can take a shine. NO TENNIS SHOES!

Dress Code for Casual Dances for Boys:

(Dances such as the Back to School are casual in nature which means attire can consist of the following):

• Jeans, shorts, workout pants/sweatpants are acceptable.
• T-shirts are allowed (no political, alcohol, drug, tobacco messages).
• Shorts must be of moderate length.
• No piercings or visible tattoos.
• Shirts must have sleeves.
• No sandals or flip-flops.
• ID's are required to be in your possession at all times.
• Administration has the right to use their discretion when it comes to determining the appropriateness of an outfit.

Transportation:

• Any use of a limo, limo bus, or such must be approved by the administration for all 8th-10th grade students. A parent representative must be present in the limo, limo bus, or such for all 8th-10th grade students. 
• Juniors and seniors are allowed to travel to semi-formal and formal events via limos, limo buses, or such.
• All school policies MUST be followed when traveling to and from a school event or dance.
