Campus Ministry

2

“I have always been convinced that the first duty of any teacher is to produce Christians: society has a greater need for people of values than it has for scholars.”

Through these words, Blessed Basil Moreau formed our mission as Holy Cross Educators to help “find the balance between heart and mind, between faith and knowledge.” The Lord has formed his divine plan for this school, leading our Holy Cross Family closer to God through an encounter of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Our call as shareholders in God’s vineyard is a call to love. “While we prepare useful citizens for society, we shall do our utmost to prepare useful citizens for heaven.” Whether our work is in advancement, in the field, or mathematics, we can be the eyes, ears, voice, and body of Jesus Christ. We receive our Lord in the Eucharist so that we can become like Him and join in His mission. We share in His divine life through taking up our cross, which in turn, provides our only hope.

As a Campus Ministry Team, we must bring Jesus to everything that we do and to everyone whom we encounter. We look to Saint Joseph as our school’s patron and the protector of the Holy Church to intercede in our mission of forming boys into men. We further our efforts through sharing in prayer, practicing virtue, and growing in manly piety.

Our Holy Cross Faith Community is hungry to know God and our purpose in life. Learning from Saint André Bessette that “the smallest brushes” create the most “exquisitely beautiful pictures,” our ministry must be intentionally discerned and prepared. We have established three key goals to direct our efforts toward our founding Holy Cross Charism. Our three objectives reflect the three benchmarks of spiritual growth: relationship, identity, and mission.
